When in open combat, these massive bipedal walkers instill fear just by being seen, and back up their terrifying appearance with devastating firepower.
The Fenris Annihilator, or simply the Annihilator, is a tall and powerful mech unit produced by Fenris. Thus far, they can only be seen in Scythe and in concept art by Jakub Rozalski.
General Description[]
Fear comes in a variety of forms, and when those who sow it tire of being subtle, that is when true fear is unleashed. These mechs are vaguley humanoid but without arms; standing on a pair of collossal legs with a boiler-shaped torso and a top-mounted turret mounting an enormous death-ray weapon of great power. This terrifying heat weapon is backed up by at least three ball turrets carrying dual-linked machine guns, one on each side of the chassis and one mounted on the main turret aiming skyward to defend against aircraft.
This machine's height and heavy firepower give it domination of the battlefield regardless of the terrain or any cover that would normally block line of sight. They are also relatively nimble for their height, able to leap over the few obstacles that would get in the way, and they are far from fragile. Most of all, however, they have a powerful psychological effect on whoever sees them, horrifying most and making others wary about attacking. Perhaps their sole weakness is their relative lack of numbers.
Abilities[]
- Death Ray: plays any number of combat cards of the same value
- Horrify: gives opponents influence tokens when their units are forced to retreat
- Leap: jumps over spaces when moving
- Fanatical: teleports to places containing influence tokens
Trivia[]
- Annihilators are the tallest mechs in Scythe; their miniatures tower over everything else on the board.
- They may be the taller than any other mech in 1920+, even in concept art.
- These mechs bear some resemblance to the TF-1597 "Icarus" seen in Iron Harvest, being immensely tall, durable, and well-armed mechs designed by Tesla as ultimate machines, albeit with only two legs.
