Mat Hanson is a famous traveler and explorer in the world of 1920+. He is a main character in "The Expedition" story that is centered around the missing Tarkovsky Expedition and the numerous unnatural things that have started to occur.
Mat Hanson is an expert in surviving the Siberian Wilderness and the Arctic because he's a specialist in Inuit survival techniques. Mat Hanson can also often be seen riding a dog sled.
Mat was a very good friend of Doctor Tarkovsky. Together, they would participate in multiple expeditions to the arctic. As soon as he was made aware of the unexplained disappearance of his friend's expedition, he immediately packed his bags and went to Siberia to find him and his team.
